Undergraduate Admissions

High School & Transfer Students

The BArch program in the School of Architecture (CoA) consists of two distinct components: the four-year BA degree and a one-year program leading to the BArch degree. The BA is both a critical component of the School's accredited professional BArch program as well as a stand-alone, independent degree program.  All high school and transfer applicants to the BArch program apply directly to the BA program. After successfully completing the BA program, current SoA students with an architecture GPA of 3.0 or higher are automatically admitted to the 5th year, BArch program.

The application process consists of the following steps and components:

B. Personal Interview

The personal interview is your opportunity to present examples of your creative work. These may include, but are not limited to, paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography. We are equally interested in seeing non-traditional examples of creative-work, such as musical compositions, boat building, film-making, set design, poetry, and collages.

Based on the evaluation of your personal interview, your creative work, your application, and your past academic performance, the Admissions Committee will either recommend acceptance or denial for admission into the School of Architecture.

The deadline for receipt of your completed application to UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Admissions for the upcoming fall semester is January 31st.
