Audition Repertoire

Your audition is the most important factor in determining whether you will be accepted into the music program. Please refer to the Audition Repertoire Guidelines below and prepare your audition accordingly. You should also dress professionally (business attire) for your audition. Although vocalists are encouraged to bring their own accompanists, the Department of Music will provide a pianist if you inform us of your needs at least one week prior to your audition. Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, please check the UNC Charlotte homepage or call the university's Inclement Weather Hotline at 704‑687‑2877 to see if the campus is closed.  If the campus is closed, then all auditions will be postponed until the next audition date.

If the campus is not closed, then the auditions will proceed as planned.  If you do not feel safe driving to campus, you may reschedule your audition by completing a new Request for Audition Form as soon as possible.

Recorded Auditions

A live audition is preferable, but if distance prohibits a personal audition a recorded audition may be submitted. Students submitting a recorded audition should submit an Audition Form online and mail a digital video of their audition to the address below. Please clearly indicate your name, instrument or voice category, and the selections performed (titles and composers). If a recorded audition is provisionally admitted, the student's final status will be determined by a live audition and placement tests on campus immediately prior to the beginning of the semester.

Students who audition by recording will not be considered for scholarships.

Please mail the video to the following address:
