2015 Summer Architecture Program for High School Students
June 14-19, 2015
The Architecture Summer Program at UNC Charlotte, held June 14-19, 2015, will introduce high school students to architecture. Students will work in a studio setting at the School of Architecture and will explore a variety of architectural issues through a series of design projects. Additional activities will include use of the College's computer lab, presentations by members of the faculty and local architects, a tour of a local architectural office, and visits to buildings in downtown Charlotte.
Faculty members from the School of Architecture, assisted by camp instructors in the undergraduate and graduate program at the school, will lead the design studio sessions. The camp instructors will work with a maximum section size of 12 students to insure opportunities for individual instruction and discussion.
Living and Dining Facilities
The students, along with their camp instructors, will live in a University residence hall and will eat together in a University facility. Students will have access to the many cultural and social activities that take place during the summer session.
Students must be at least sixteen years old by July 1, 2015, to be eligible to attend the camp. There are no specific prerequisites. Students will receive instruction and guidance in areas that are required to pursue the program. Any student who is willing to make a conscientious effort will be able to complete the course assignments successfully. Enrollment is limited to 48 students.
