Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín is a powerful concert-drama that commemorates the remarkable story of courageous Jewish prisoners who performed the Verdi Requiem in the Terezín (Theresienstadt) concentration camp during the Holocaust. Performed by the University Chorale and esteemed guest artists, Defiant Requiem combines Verdi’s magnificent music with video testimony from Terezín survivors and segments of the Nazi propaganda film made at the camp in 1944.
