Luciano Xavier comes from his native, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and is a master percussionist specializing in the music of Brazil's culture. He started drumming inside of his Candomblé temple. Xavier's performing career includes the internationally renowned Balé Folklorico da Bahia, Orchestra Afro Bahiana do Pelourinho, Sobe A Regencia da Mestra Emilia Biancard, and Odin Teatro. He has presented lectures and performances as a Master Drummer for Afro-Brazilian cultural presentations at various colleges throughout the US and taught in Argentina, Venezuela, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, and Benin Republic. He has worked with some of the most distinguished master teachers of our time including Mestre King, Augusto Omolu and Rosangela Silvestre.
