How did you become interested in the arts/design?
In kindergarten we had these old Macs (you know the ones with the colored shells and vacuum-tube screens?). There was this program on them called Kid Pix, which was pretty much a more awesome version of Microsoft Paint. I loved that software and the freedom of experimentation that digital provided! This, mixed with my parent's occasional gifts of art supplies every now and again, quickly led me to explore pursuing a degree in the arts.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I've got a pretty open mind when it comes to my career prospects but I would love to end up in a job that allows me to design products, experiences, and/or curriculums that have real impacts on end users. I love facilitating communication and helping people learn new things.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?
The people, both faculty and students! There are tons of nice individuals everywhere you look!
Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community? If so, please describe.
I have completed a number of large scale installations with my frequent co-collaborator and partner-in-crime Madison Kate Dunaway, a few of which have been in public spaces both on campus and in the Charlotte area.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I'm a big hiker - I love hiking and we are truly blessed to live in a state that the Application Trail runs through. I also love to do animation and design-related activities in my free time!
