Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in the arts/design?

I have always been interested in art from a early age. It started by going to many different art museums and seeing art in my home and around where I lived. I wanted to learn more about it and when I finally took some art classes in school, I loved learning about art and making my own.

Why did you apply to the Arts + Architecture Honors Program?

I like to challenge myself in many ways, especially academically. I believe that if you don't challenge yourself, how will you learn anything? I want to be the best I can be and I believe that this program can help me get there.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

Generally, I hope to have a career that I love and makes me happy, and that also helps other people in the world.

What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte?

I love the campus at UNC Charlotte. I like how all the red brick buildings and green space work together to make this place beautiful.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community?

I worked at a small boutique store that also did embroidery and I was a part of making the embroidery on items brought in. I also volunteer at local charities through helping with my church.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

I like to go hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, and going on adventures. My favorite adventures are the ones where I get to explore the nature this world has to offer and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us every day.
