Requiem of Solace

March 17, 2017 - 7:30 PM
Belk Theater, Robinson Hall

The University Chorale is joined by Sine Nomine and soloists Alissa Deeter, soprano, and Dennis Jesse, baritone, for Requiem of Solace, a musical meditation on death and life. The program includes Brahms's A German Requiem, sung in a new English translation, and the premiere of Jocelyn Hagen's "Facets" from amass. Guest pianists Arlene Shrut and Renate Rohlfing will perform a four-hand piano reduction of the orchestral score for the Requiem, part of the "Sustainable Symphony" project.

The program is sponsored in part by the Sorel Organization, which supports the work of women in music, and Steinway Piano Gallery in Charlotte.

Tickets are $10; $8 for students.
