Our amazing faculty include
- a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company
- specialists in contact improvisation, African-Brazilian dance, Odissi Classical Indian dance, and site-specific choreography
- founder and artistic director of local contemporary dance company Baran Dance
- the co-editor of Moving History/ Dancing Cultures: A Dance History Reader
- a National Dance Education Organization Lifetime Achievement Awardee
- a musical theater choreographer whose highlights include the musicals: Rock of Ages, American Idiot, The Rocky Horror Show and Dream a Little Dream- Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte
- a Registered Somatic Dance Educator

RECENTLY, OUR STUDENTS HAVE

- Traveled to New York City to perform at the Joyce Theater
- worked with incredible guest artists such as Robert Green and James Kopecky
- traveled to South Carolina to study traditional ring shouts
- trained in intensives at the Martha Graham and Paul Taylor Dance Companies
- presented at the regional American College Dance Association conference
- served as Charlotte Research Scholars
- received scholarships to attend the American Dance Festival
- been accepted to graduate programs at Duke University, Hollins University, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London)
