Faculty & Friends Concert: Kirsten Swanson

January 22, 2018 - 7:30 PM
Rowe Recital Hall

The Department of Music presents a Faculty & Friends performance featuring UNC Charlotte adjunct viola professor Kirsten Swanson, with percussionist Peter Zlotnik and pianist Erin Palmer.

Classical Voice of North Carolina has described violist Kirsten Swanson as a “stunning musician with flawless technique combined with that unique ‘viola’ sound that can melt your soul.” Feeling equally at ease with “new” and “old” music, in an orchestra or solo, Swanson enjoys a diverse career that takes her all over the world. She has played with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, West Virginia Symphony, Vermont Symphony, and Aspen Festival and Chamber Orchestras, to name a few. Chamber music being her first love, she co-founded the Atticus String Quartet, a semi-professional quartet based in Eastern North Carolina.

Tickets are $10; $8 for UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, and alumni and students. College of Arts + Architecture majors receive a complimentary ticket with the 49erArtsLink program.
