Virtual - Zoom

The School of Architecture presents a free public lecture by Meejin Yoon, founding partner of the firm Höweler+Yoon. A Q&A will follow.

Meejin Yoon is an architect, designer, and educator. She was the first female head of the Department of Architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and currently serves as the Dean of the College of Architecture, Art and Planning at Cornell University. Her practice employs design as an instrument for imagining and implementing change – social, cultural, technological, and environmental – and has developed a reputation for work that is formally and technologically innovative, socially engaged, and conceptually rigorous. Adhering to the concept she refers to as "expanded practice," Höweler+Yoon's projects are often infused with contributions from interdisciplinary teams. Among their current projects is the Memorial for Enslaved Laborers at the University of Virginia.
