Bachelor of Arts in Art

How did you become interested in the arts/design?
There really isn’t a defining moment; it’s been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
Art Therapist/Mental Health Counselor. I am excited to combine my passion for art and art history with my desire to help others.

What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?
The energy, the people, and how hard the CoA+A students work on their craft. Being surrounded by creative people and taught by instructors who love what they do inspires me.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community?
I have just started a School and Community Outreach internship at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and have also had internships with the Arts for Life Organization at Levine Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Mint Museum. It's great getting hands-on experience in my field.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
Spending time with my boys, traveling, reading, cooking and volunteering at the barn so I can hang out with the horses. It’s the best therapy!
