Give a little general information about yourself: How did you become interested in architecture?
I was always interested in architecture as a kid due to its presence in people's lives. I thought it would be cool to see buildings I designed as well. I ended up paying attention to the effects that the built world had on me which I think made a deep impression. I didn't begin to take my pursuit of architecture seriously until a little later, but so far, it's even better than I expected.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I find large projects fascinating and enjoy working in groups, so I would enjoy working with a big firm. I am open to what path reveals itself to me though so I keep an eye out for new interests.
What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the School of Architecture?
The range of backgrounds among my professors and the desire the faculty has to see the students do well by pushing them to work and think hard. I also enjoy the unique community that my cohort offers.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community? If so, please describe.
I am the vice president of the AIAS chapter at UNC Charlotte.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy 35mm photography and painting. I also like to work on my car and swim laps.
