Recent UNC Charlotte alumna Linnea Stoops (BFA 2017) won an award in the Flux 2017 Student Competition from AIGA Blue Ridge. This annual competition invites entries from graphic design students across the country. For 2018, 758 entries were submitted, with 278 projects selected. Linnea's work was selected in the “Identity” category and was produced in the “Communications Design” course, which is part of the graphic design concentration in the BFA in Studio Art offered by the Department of Art & Art History. For the competition, she entered her work rebranding a snack food provider. Her designs transformed mundane food packaging, signage and advertising into a humorous and colorful celebration of tropical good times.

Upon graduating in Fall 2017, Linnea joined the Charlotte-area graphic design firm Little Red Bird as a junior designer. Students from the graphic design concentration at UNC Charlotte have now produced winning entries in this national competition in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
