SoA Announces 2019 Scholarships in Practice

The School of Architecture announces new Scholarship in Practice awards.

The School of Architecture is pleased to announce the 2019 Scholarships in Practice:

C DESIGN Scholarship in Practice: Mariel Hamer
BB&M Scholarship in Practice: Cameron Day
CLARK NEXSEN Scholarship in Practice: Devin Waddell

The SoA Scholarship in Practice program was established in 2015. Each Scholarship in Practice provides the recipient with a full-time summer internship, followed by a part-time internship during the academic year, during which time each will receive a tuition scholarship in the amount of $5,000 ($2,500 fall / $2,500 spring).

Based in Charlotte, C DESIGN’s practice focuses on education, recreation, transportation, workplace and operations facilities. The 22-person firm was recently awarded AIA Charlotte Firm of the Year.

BB+M is a 50-person firm based in Charlotte, NC. Their practice has received numerous local and regional design awards and focuses on architecture - with regional specialization in mixed-use, high-density market-rate urban housing - planning, interior design and sustainability.  

CLARK NEXSEN is a 450-person firm based in 10 offices located in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Washington, D.C. Clark Nexsen is an architecture and engineering firm with complementary expertise in planning, interior design, and landscape architecture.
