Three students from the School of Architecture have been accepted into the iPAL program this year.
Three students from the School of Architecture, Sydney Garceau, Alexis Andrikanich, and Tyler DeJong, have been accepted into the iPAL program this semester.

In 2015, the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards launched the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL). UNC Charlotte's School of Architecture was one of the first universities accepted into the program. Every semester since then, iPAL has provided students an opportunity to complete the experience and examination requirements for licensure concurrently with the education requirement.

Sydney Garceau, BA Architecture '23 and 2020-21 AIAS Events Coordinator, is starting iPAL at Progressive AE. “I am excited about how iPAL will allow me to incorporate real-world applications of architecture at the same time I am studying architecture through an academic lens," she says. "I think the push and pull between these two sides will provide interesting developments in my projects and designs.”

Alexis Andrikanich, BA Architecture '23, is starting iPAL at WHN Architects. “I am looking forward to how iPAL will increase my architecture knowledge base, exponentially, through the balance of professional work and school work," she says. "Through the iPAL program, my career and education will both benefit and grow quickly. I am excited about seeing others' perspectives.”

Tyler DeJong, Master's in Architecture '23, is starting iPAL at Housing Studio. He says, “Through iPAL, I am excited to expand my experience in the field of architecture as well as bring fresh perspectives to the program. I believe integrating real-world experience and academics will benefit both my education and future career.”
