Three teams of first year architecture students took top prizes in Artuminate’s BAUHAUS Design Style Competition, an international design and writing competition. The students entered the competition under the direction of School of Architecture Teaching Fellows Arturo Luhan and Trevor Holmes.
The students were challenged to develop a conceptual design and written submission on the design style of the Bauhaus, the art and design school and movement that began in 1919 in Weimar, Germany.
Joshua Marino, Yazan Khattab, and Mitch Glover won First Prize with their project, Building Blocks of a Relative Universe. Kennan Huskison, Paxton Antrim, and Timothy Graham won Third Prize for their project The Form of Society. Alera Hager, Luka Harris, and Victor Barragan-Salcedo received an Honorable Mention for their project, The Bauhaus Movement Design Intention.
The projects have all received recognition on Archiol, a platform for the collection and exchange of architectural information and design ideas created by professionals and students.
