Faculty in the School of Architecture will present at several national and international conferences this fall:
- Associate Professor Thomas Forget will present "Housing Inquiry: Changes in Contemporary Urban Living" at the Culture in Urban Space Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark (August 24-26);
- Associate Professor Jefferson Ellinger will present "Urban Vertical Farming" at the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture/Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health Fall Conference at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu (September 22-24);
- Assistant Professor Rachel Dickey will present "Qualitative Robotics: Making a Case for Huggable Architecture" at the 2016 Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture Conference at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (October 27-29);
- Visiting Assistant Professor Jeffrey Nesbit will present "Landscapes in the Productive Void" at the International Conference on Urban and ExtraUrban Studies Conference in Philadelphia (November 10-11).
Earlier in the summer, Associate Professor Zhongjie Lin, director of the Master of Urban Design program, presented the keynote address at the International Forum on Rural Development and Planning at Suzhou University of Science & Technology, China (June 2-3): "The Valley: Ideals of Urban-Rural Interaction in the 20th Century Planning.” He also presented "The Tale of Two Utopias: Studies of Contemporary Asian Urbanism" in the School of Architecture at Soochow University in Suzhou, China (June 22), and "Vertical Urbanism: Re-conceptualizing the Compact City" and "A Comparison of Model Eco-cities in Japan and China: Case Studies of Kitakyushu and Tianjin" at the 2016 ACSA International Conference in Santiago, Chile (June 29-July 1).
