Theatre Professor Designs Children's Theatre Production

Scenic design professor Tom Burch has designed Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds."

Assistant Professor of Scenic Design Tom Burch has designed the Children's Theatre of Charlotte production of Bob Marley's Three Little Birds. The production runs February 8-24 at the McColl Family Theatre. 

Burch, who has had an extensive career in Chicago, has designed numerous Children's Theatre productions since coming to UNC Charlotte in 2014, as well as at other regional theatre companies. This season, his work has been seen in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at Children's Theatre and The Weir at Burning Coal Theatre in Raleigh.

Burch is also active with the United States Institute of Theatre Technology, serving three times (2011, 2015, and 2019) as the director/curator for the American Student Design Exhibit that travels to the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, presenting the work of emerging American stage designers to the international symposium.
