Two current theatre students were recently booked for professional commercials that filmed in the Charlotte region.
On November 9, Ariana Arocho filmed a commercial in Kannapolis for the North Carolina Education Lottery. Arocho, a junior theatre major originally from Puerto Rico, is represented by JTA, Inc. Talent Agency. Over the summer she also shot a major regional commercial for Sheetz convenience store company.
Senior theatre major Cydney Wallace, who is from Shelby, N.C., has booked several recent commercials through the Evolution Talent Agency. In August, she filmed a commercial for NASCAR at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord; in October she filmed a commercial in Charlotte for the telecommunications corporation Qualcomm; and on November 7 she filmed a commercial in Mooresville for the car shopping website CarGurus.
Both students have studied acting with Assistant Professor Kaja Dunn, who regularly connects students with casting agents and professional actors in her Business of Acting and Acting 2 classes.
