H. Tesh Ramey joined the College of Arts + Architecture in Fall 2013 with eleven years’ experience teaching K-5 Music in North Carolina public schools. She earned a Biology degree from Wake Forest University and her B.M. in Music Education from Appalachian State, where she studied clarinet under Doug Miller.
During her teaching tenure, Tesh served as a mentor, cooperating teacher, and district chair for the CMS Elementary Honors Chorus. After receiving her National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Music in 2006, she joined the staff of the CMS National Board Office as a portfolio reader. In 2016, she renewed her National Board Certification.
Tesh has served on district-wide curriculum writing committees in Forsyth and Mecklenburg counties as well as serving as a textbook reviewer for the Silver-Burdett Making Music North Carolina Music Planner, distributed to NC Elementary Music classrooms. In 2009, she was voted Teacher of the Year at Idlewild Elementary. Tesh received her Master of Education in
Curriculum and Supervision from UNC Charlotte in 2010.
