Give a little general information about yourself: How did you become interested in architecture?

My love for architecture first developed when I was gifted a set of K-Nex by Lego. I used to make houses for my Barbie dolls.  My first encounter with 3D modeling software was in middle school when I took a Solid Works class. When I got to high school I starting looking into architecture more specifically after taking technical drafting.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

I hope to work in healthcare design. Over the summer, I had an internship in the Construction and Design department of WakeMed Hospital. This internship opened my eyes to the many advancements occurring in hospital and ambulatory design. The world of architecture is ever changing and so is the medical world. Putting both together make for unimaginable facilities.

What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the School of Architecture?

My favorite thing about the SoA is the endless opportunities available here. From study abroad opportunities, student organizations, and having resources such as the fabrication labs, there is something for everyone.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

When not completing school work, I like to get out and enjoy what Charlotte has to offer. I attend sporting events on campus, joined an intramural volleyball team, and every chance I get, a group of friends and I use the light rail to go uptown to eat.
