Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in art/design?

I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a crayon. Art has always been my passion, and I knew that art and design was what I wanted to do my entire life. I've known that I wanted to become an architect since middle school and I haven't changed my mind since. It's my passion and I love every second of it.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

I hope to become a licensed, professional architect and specialize in residential architecture. I want to be able to genuinely affect people's lives with my designs and what better place to do that then in their homes.

What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?

I love the community that is fostered within the College of Arts + Architecture. I always feel that the staff, students, and faculty are supporting me and helping me to be my best. I am very thankful for all of the wonderful people that I have gotten to know in the CoAA and I know that those connections will still be strong throughout my career.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community?

I am the Vice President for the UNC Charlotte chapter of the American Institute of Architecture. We strive to not only foster the community within and outside of the COAA, but provide opportunities for students to socialize, network, learn, and find experience. I also intern during the school year and summers at an architecture and engineering firm in uptown Charlotte that specializes in higher education, primarily dormitories.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

When I'm not drawing for class or work, I'm drawing for fun. In what little free time I do have, I love to put on a YouTube playlist and go to town on a sketchbook.
