Master Electrician, Rick Moll has lived in Charlotte for over 20 years. A graduate of UNC Charlotte, he holds degrees in both Theatre (BCA) and English (BA). Over the last 20 years, Rick has served at the master electrician for regional theatres in Illinois and Florida, as well as a 5-year stint as the ME for the Children's Theatre of Charlotte. Before coming to UNC Charlotte, Rick worked for the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center as a Technical Production Manager. In ten years at the Center, he had the opportunity to work with local organizations like the Charlotte Symphony, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Opera Carolina, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Moving Poets, Queen City Theatre Company and Carolina Voices. In this position, he served as a local production liaison for many touring productions (Phantom of the Opera, Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King) and national acts (Tony Bennett, Bill Cosby), scheduling labor, catering and expendables needs as required. Internationally, he has been to the shipyards of St. Nazaire, France to oversee the stage lighting installation of cruise ships for the Paramount Entertainment Cruise Line division. He was the local production coordinator for the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT) National Competition in May 2007. Rick is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Local 322, where he also serves on the Education Committee. Shows worked thru Local 322 include Coldplay, WWE, Carolina Rebellion, Tom Petty, Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty, Riverdance, Celine Dion, and Josh Ritter. He is a Certified Entertainment Electrician, as recognized by the Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP). He has been on the faculty at UNC Charlotte since 2009.
