Concerts

Students have the opportunity to perform in two fully produced concerts a year choreographed by faculty and guest artists. These concerts are held in our professional, state-of-the-art stage, the Anne R. Belk Theatre. Auditions for the Spring and Fall Dance Concerts are held at the beginning of each semester and are open to majors in the Department of Dance, dance minors, and the general UNC Charlotte student body. The BA in Dance degree requires 3 credit hours for performance courses, which include these stage performances.

In addition, dancers also have the opportunity to perform in our student-choreographed, department-produced concert, Under Construction. This annual showcase is a department initiative to develop student choreography, where several students choreograph for student dancers and are mentored by faculty. This performance takes place in our lab theatre, Robinson Hall 118. Students also see their faculty perform each year as part of the Faculty Dance Concert, as well as perform in student-produced concerts run by dance student organizations, Range of Motion Dance Ensemble and MOVE Dance Alliance.
