How did you first get interested in theatre?
I was first introduced to the arts in elementary school, and I’ve loved it ever since. Throughout my time in school, I’ve done a little bit of everything both within theatre and other disciplines. I always say I’ve had many lives in the arts. I've done dance, fashion design, run crew, worked in the costume shop, and played in the pit orchestra (cello).  In college, I’ve gotten into stage management, and sound and lighting design. The arts have always felt like a second home to me, so I always look forward to working within the department.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
It's hard to say exactly because I like working in many departments. The cool thing about working on the production side is that we create the world characters live in, so in any job I have I want to be a part of that creative process.

What is your favorite thing about the theatre department?
My favorite thing about the technical theatre department is the people. The professors are so knowledgeable about their areas, and they want to see you grow as a student. My friends push me to be better, and we’ve been able to grow together as designers and technicians. Another thing I love is the amount of opportunities both on and off campus to learn and grow in the industry.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I'm a part of IATSE 322, and I volunteer at Theatre Charlotte.

Can you talk about your experience as a scholarship student?
I received the Belk Performing Arts Scholarship and it has helped me grow as a student. I've been able to actively work within the theatre department as a stage management and lighting technician. The scholarship has also allowed me to work on independent projects to grow my skills.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love to go see shows, read books, and cook.
