Voice professor Carl DuPont, bass-baritone, welcomes guest artists Christine Jobson, soprano, and pianist Alan Johnson for Black Lives – A Lecture-Recital Program from the Operas of Anthony Davis. The program will include excerpts from Davis’s acclaimed operas (X – The Life and Times of Malcolm X and Amistad) and two new works (FIVE and The Darkest Light in the Heart), all portraying momentous actions and engagements crucial to African American lives.
