The UNC Charlotte Department of Dance presents a weekend of dance performances, masterclasses, and scholarly panels on Indian classical dance Odissi. The event is directed by Dr. Kaustavi Sarkar, assistant professor of dance at UNC Charlotte, who is an Odissi practioner-scholar. It features more than 100 Odissi dancers from all over the world, in addition to scholars in dance studies, architecture, digital humanities, computer science, and anthropology.
The three-day conference, May 3-5, includes a gala performance on Saturday, May 4, at 7:00 pm. All events are free, but registration is required. Please click here to register.
