The UNC Charlotte Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Shawn Smith, presents The Lord of the Rings, Dutch composer Johan de Meij’s seminal first symphony, composed 30 years ago. The symphony is based on the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy and consists of five separate movements, each illustrating a character or an important episode from Tolkien’s masterpiece.

Prior to that performance, the Mooresville High School Wind Ensemble, Joshua Stevenson, conductor, will perform three works.

Tickets are $8. CoA+A majors receive a complimentary ticket through the 49erArtsLink program.
