Dance Professor Co-edits Dance Studies Journal

Dr. Takiyah Nur Amin, Assistant Professor of Dance Studies at UNC Charlotte, co-edited a recently-published issue of Conversations Across the Field of Dance Studies entitled Talking Black Dance: Inside Out/Outside In.Co-edited with Duke University Professor Thomas F. DeFrantz, the issue focuses on embodied practices that constitute African diaspora dance and their histories and identities within dance studies. 

Conversations Across the Field of the Dance Studies is issued yearly by the Society of Dance History Scholars and provides an informal forum for scholarly engagement. Talking Black Dance is Volume XXXVI, a special double issue, and the most substantial Conversations issue SDHS has published.
