Give a little general information about yourself: How did you become interested in Architecture?

In the seventh grade, I did an art project that required me to draw a cityscape in two-point perspective. By the end of the project, it was one of my favorite projects I had ever done. At the time, I didn’t know that I would love architecture until I hit sophomore year in high school, when I had to do another two-point perspective drawing. To confirm that I wanted to do architecture, I did a summer program in my junior year of high school at the University of Oregon for a month. At the end of the program, I knew architecture is what I enjoyed.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

I hope to be able to focus on sustainable designs not only for homes but new ideas on how sustainability and renewability can be redesigned.

What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the School of Architecture?

My favorite thing about being in the School of Architecture is how different architecture is from other majors. All of us are constantly working in studio. We are like a little family.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community? If so, please describe.

I am currently working with students bringing back an organization called USGBC (United States Green Building Council).

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

I love going to the gym and lifting weights. I would say it is my biggest and constant mentor. Reminding me about discipline, consistency, and working out of my comfort zone is the way to growth and self-improvement. When I am not in the gym I’m hanging out with my friends or spending time with my family.
